About Statue of Equality

This Statue is a 216-foot (66 m) tall statue of the 11th-century Indian philosopher Ramanujacharya. It is located on the premises of the Chinna Jeeyar Trust at Muchintal. The statue is made of panchaloha, a five-metal alloy of gold, silver, copper, brass, and tin.

It is situated on a 21-acre (8.5 ha) campus that also houses a Vedic digital library, research center, ancient Indian texts, theatre, and a gallery. Ranga Reddy district on the outskirts of Hyderabad in Telangana. It is the second tallest sitting statue in the world after the Spring Temple Buddha in China. The statue was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 5 February 2022.

Who built the Statue of Equality?

This Statue was built by the Chinna Jeeyar Trust. It is a non-profit organization founded by Sri Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swami, a Hindu monk and spiritual leader. The trust also built replicas of the 108 Divya Desams, 108 temples dedicated to Vishnu, around the statue. The statue was constructed by Arosan Corporation, a Nanjing-based company, and was made of 700 tonnes of panchaloha, a five-metal alloy of gold, silver, copper, brass, and zinc.
